UNEASY PRESENCE
BRUCE DICKSON
Bruce Dickson’s works were produced from 2012 – 2013 for the MFA by Coursework at RMIT University.
The work is predominantly linear, informed by the built environment, the history of Constructivist objects and contemporary uses of exhibition spaces. He draws on forms of domestic furniture and interior architecture. With a contemplative, yet unsettled use of formal construction, Dickson asks the viewer to engage with objects that are almost familiar, tending toward unease.
Dickson is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Fine Art at RMIT University. He is continuing practice-led research into the evocation of human fragility through spatial practice.
